Learning an instrument can be fun if you have the right teacher!
In 2015 I quit my day job in pharmacy to do what I love: teach and play piano! I now teach out of my home in Akron, with my three fluffy assistants: Casper, Mocha and Ninja (pictured, top to bottom).
I am the president elect of the Summit County chapter of the Western Reserve Music Teachers Association (WRMTA) . Being a part of this organization means I have the opportunity to continually learn and improve my teaching. It also provides my students different venues for performance.
Originally from Western New York, I’ve lived in Ohio, Iowa, and Missouri, before moving back to Ohio in 2012. My piano teachers have included Phyllis East and Mary Cobb at SUNY Fredonia, and Laura Silverman and Philip Thompson at the University of Akron. I am currently pursuing a Bachelors of Arts in piano at the University of Akron with Mayumi Kikuchi. I’ll graduate summer of 2018.
I also hold a Bachelors in Music Performance from SUNY Fredonia and a Masters in Music Performance from BSGU, both in the oboe.
